Coach Daniela “Dani” Brescia is a New Milford, NJ native and University of Scranton graduate and former collegiate softball player, where she established herself as an offensive threat and team leader. Known by her teammates for her energy, work ethic, encouragement and competitive spirit, Dani brings a balance of high-level instruction, positivity and FUN to every session.

A multi-position athlete with experience as a pitcher, first baseman and outfielder, Dani developed a well-rounded understanding of the game through more than 15 years of playing softball.

​

During her career at New Milford High School, Dani was a 3x All-League Selection, All-County Selection and All-Group 1 Selection. She surpassed 100 career hits and led New Jersey in RBIs during her junior season, despite losing a year of high school competition due to the pandemic. During her club career, she was also recognized as a member of the USSSA Home Run Club.

At The University of Scranton, Dani continued her success at the collegiate level, earning All-Conference honors as a Designated Hitter while also being named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll.

​

What makes Coach Dani especially aligned with Challenge U. is her passion for the mental side of the game. After battling back from an ACL injury in 2022, Dani developed an even greater appreciation for mental toughness, internal confidence and resilience. Her experience taught her that athletes are often capable of far more than they believe — and she now makes it a priority to help young players recognize and unlock that potential.

Dani’s coaching philosophy centers around helping athletes build confidence, remember their “why,” embrace challenges and become comfortable taking risks in order to grow. She wants athletes to leave each session not only as better softball players, but believing more strongly in themselves.

​

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling & Human Services and plans to pursue a career as a professional school counselor, Dani brings a unique educational background to her coaching. Her understanding of communication, confidence and goal setting complements Challenge U.’s commitment to developing the complete athlete — physically and mentally.
