COACH LEX
Certified C.U. Hitting/Defense Instructor
Coach Lex brings her passion, energy, and a strong work ethic to coaching at CU. A native of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, she has loved softball since she first picked up a bat as a five-year-old and is excited to help the next generation of players develop both on and off the field.
Coach Lex was a four-year varsity starter in the outfield for Pascack Hills High School, where she earned First Team All-Bergen County honors and helped lead her team to its first league championship in 45 years. As a junior, she hit .553, posted a 1.113 slugging percentage with seven home runs, and only struck out twice all season.
She continued her playing career at Hamilton College, where she was a four-year NCAA Division III athlete, growing into her role as an everyday starter in center field, consistently batting in the heart of the lineup. During her junior season, she was selected for the 2025 NFCA Division III Player of the Year Watchlist and earned all-NESCAC honors. She hit .340 in conference play while setting a Hamilton program record with 38 RBIs and tying the school record with seven triples. She ended her collegiate career with a .311 batting average, 114 hits, 9 home runs, and a .523 slugging percentage. She tied the Hamilton Softball program career games played record (136), and ended number two in career RBIs (77), walks (46), and triples (13).
During her time at Hamilton, Coach Lex balanced her athletic demands with a rigorous academic schedule, graduating with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in philosophy, and plans to begin medical school in the coming years. She also held multiple executive board leadership positions for campus student organizations while developing the discipline, time-management skills, and resilience that have shaped her both on and off the field. Her undergraduate experience helped her become a well-rounded, driven, and committed mentor for young athletes.
As a coach, Lex emphasizes confidence, preparation, and resilience. She believes that softball is as much a mental game as a physical one and works to help athletes develop a positive mindset alongside strong fundamentals. Having experienced both success and adversity throughout her own career, she understands that every athlete develops differently and strives to create a supportive environment where athletes can build skills, gain confidence, and learn to compete with purpose. She is passionate about helping young players reach their potential while maintaining the love of the game that first brought them to the field.
