Coach Merrick has one word when describing softball... passion. Coach has played, all over the country with, and against, some of the best in the game. It isn't just playing that game that is a pure passion of hers, it is also teaching the game and working with today's youth.
Coach Merrick has worked in childcare since she was 14 years old paving the way for her to learn key techniques to connect with athletes of all ages. Since 2020, Coach has been volunteer coaching for the 12U Oakland Braves Travel Softball team and continues her volunteer coaching work for the Indian Hills softball program. Her love to share her knowledge and passion for the game with the next generation is clear.

Coach has a wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills that make her ready to take her athletes to the next level. She is known to be one of the most hard-working, compassionate, and determined instructors in the game.
"I am committed to challenging my players to work hard, train diligently, and persevere to reach their goals as a female athlete and their goals in life. Softball has shaped me in a variety of ways. As a catcher, softball taught me to become a leader both on and off the diamond. As a power-hitter, softball taught me how to perform and execute under pressure. And finally, as a teammate, softball taught me how to have fun through a sport, be an encouraging friend to my teammates, and support something bigger than myself. I love that I am able share this with all my players and watch them succeed at Challenge U. Softball!"
