Coach Colleen is a true example of strength, determination, grit, and perseverance. Her ability to inspire her athletes to stay focused, motivated, and confident at the plate or in the field is clear through each and every lesson that she holds at C.U.
Coach Colleen has been playing softball from the age of four, when she began playing T-Ball. She grew along with the sport, and began playing travel softball for the Sparta Diamonds at the age of eight. She thrived in the competitive environment, building on her foundation of skills to become a highly successful player for her travel team. Coach Colleen honed her skills with regular batting practices which allowed her to become an offensive asset to her team.
At Sparta High, Coach Colleen competed on the varsity team for three years. Her primary position was first baseman, but her athleticism and team-driven mindset allowed her to step up and fill various infield and outfield positions as needed throughout her time at Sparta. In 2011, Coach Colleen was a part of Sparta’s first ever win for the Group 3 New Jersey State Championship.
After high school, Coach Colleen joined the U.S. Army, serving from 2012-2020. During this time, Coach also attended college at William Pace University in Raleigh, NC. She played one season for the Pacers as a first baseman and ended her season with a .375 batting average. Coach Colleen transferred to the University of Cincinnati to focus on her undergraduate degree in Biology and played for the university’s club team.
Her competitive nature and love for softball has brought her back to her home state of New Jersey to coach at Challenge U. Coach is always striving to better herself on and off the field, and loves sharing her knowledge and passion for softball with young, driven players. Softball has always been Coach Colleen’s calling and she is thrilled to be able to help young players achieve their athletic goals in the sport that has shaped her throughout her life.
