Coach Smith was introduced to softball at an early age, playing rec t-ball at 5-years old. Growing up in a large baseball and softball family, it was in her blood to love and play the game. By middle school, she lived for the sport and excelled quickly as the catcher for both her Waldwick Rec. and travel teams. Although a multi-sport athlete, playing soccer, tennis, running, and competitive Irish Dancing, softball always remained her #1.
Coach Smith continued her softball career throughout high school, catching for Waldwick High School as well as club softball. She was the starting catcher for these teams, aiding in bringing them to multiple County Championships throughout those years. Not to be fooled by her size, Coach was known for her speed behind the plate and bullet throws for an easy out on an attempted steal.

Although playing NCAA softball was an option for Coach, she decided to focus on her studies while playing intramural softball over the years. Her passion for the game never ended. Besides being a top hitting and catching coach at C.U., Coach Smith is still active in the softball community, coaching her 9-year old daughter's softball team. Although accompanied by other coaches, she focuses on training catchers, infield, and hitting.

Coach Smith's goal for all her students is to develop not only physical skills but to build an emotional foundation that will carry their confidence throughout their entire lives, on and off the field. She has a wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills that make her ready to take her athletes to the next level. She is known to be one of the most caring, compassionate, and determined instructors in the game.
